This was stated in a comment to Ukrinform regarding the situation in Konstantinovka by the commander of the 19th Army Corps, Brigadier General Oleksandr Bakulin.
According to him, the first infiltrations by Russians into Konstantinovka began in the fall of last year. It was from that time that units of the 19th Army Corps, together with other detachments, initiated counter-diversionary measures.
As Bakulin noted, the enemy operates in small infantry groups, attempting to infiltrate the gaps between the combat formations of Ukrainian troops, periodically using motor vehicles to approach Ukrainian positions more quickly. The Russians support their assault operations with artillery and strike drones.
“The situation in the direction is under control. Enemy attempts to advance are thwarted. Logistical tasks are being accomplished. The enemy is not succeeding. There is no encirclement of our troops near Konstantinovka,” the brigadier general stated.
According to Bakulin, since February of this year, over 700 Russian servicemen have been eliminated in Konstantinovka alone by the forces of the 19th Army Corps. As of today, approximately 130 Russian servicemen are recorded in the city. The locations where the enemy is present are under constant surveillance, and strikes are delivered upon them daily. A significant portion of the invaders’ personnel are wounded or trapped under rubble.
“Konstantinovka holds. The warriors of the 19th Army Corps maintain their lines,” Bakulin emphasized.
As Ukrinform reported, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on June 12, in the Konstantinovka direction, Russians conducted 13 attacks in the areas of Ivanopillia, Illinivka, Pleshchiivka, Vilne, and towards Konstantinovka, Hruzke, and Toretske.
