Зеленський: Якщо зараз припинити бойові дії, Путін не матиме змоги захопити іншу державу

Zelenskyy: If the war is stopped now, Putin will have no chance to occupy another country 09.06.2026 18:34 Ukrinform President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that if Russia’s war against Ukraine is stopped now, Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin will have no chance to occupy another country.

The head of the Ukrainian state said this at a joint press conference with the leaders of the Nordic and Baltic countries in Tallinn, as reported by a Ukrinform correspondent.

“When we talk about negotiations, we must talk about security for the region. If we find a way to stop this war as quickly as possible, then, clearly, Putin will have no chance to occupy another country,” Zelenskyy noted.

According to him, Russia’s goal is to destabilize Europe, and Putin achieves it in various ways, including through his allies.

“They used the territory of Belarus (…) to put pressure on Poland’s borders. This is important for us in the region. Poland is our strong ally, but they used this situation for pressure and tried to present it as if it was due to support for Ukraine,” the President said.

He added that similarly, through occupied Transnistria, Russians are trying to destabilize Moldova.

“Therefore, they do not want any stabilization in the region. They do not need it,” the head of state noted.

He emphasized that in such a situation, it is important to strengthen each other. “Strengthening our relations not only with drones, it is important to be strong against any cyberattacks, and we are ready to share this because we have gone through all these challenges,” Zelenskyy stated.

As reported, Commander-in-Chief of the Latvian Armed Forces Kaspars Pudāns stated that Russia has gained significant experience in the use of drones during the war, which is an advantage over NATO countries, and may try to take advantage of a “window of opportunity” by the end of 2028 to attack the Baltic states.
