Zelenskyy Spoke About Russia’s Plans to Weaken Ukraine’s Ties with Several States – Intelligence Received Documents 02.06.2026 18:29 Ukrinform One of Russia’s key political objectives is to limit Ukraine’s security, economic, and other strategic ties with Moldova, the countries of the South Caucasus, the Middle East, and the Gulf.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote about this on Telegram following a report by the head of HUR MO Oleg Ivashchenko, Ukrinform reports.
“Military intelligence has also obtained new internal Russian political planning documents, including those concerning Ukraine’s relations with Moldova, the countries of the South Caucasus, the Middle East, and the Gulf. We know that one of Russia’s key political objectives is to limit our security, economic, and other strategic ties with the respective countries. We believe that Russia thereby only confirms that both we in Ukraine and our partners are moving in the right direction towards greater security and further development of our sovereignty, as well as the complete neutralization of Russian influence,” he wrote.
Zelenskyy noted that Europe should significantly increase its support for every nation “that Russia has gripped with its teeth and is trying not to let go of freedom.” According to the President, this is particularly relevant for Armenia now, as elections are soon to be held there.
“This is not just a question of one political choice or another by the people, but a fundamental right of the people to independently choose their future. Europe has the necessary capacity to support the fundamental rules that have always worked and will continue to work for security. We will have relevant proposals in our work with partners,” he stated.
As Ukrinform reported, the head of the President’s Office, Kyrylo Budanov, stated that the repetition of the Ukrainian scenario against Armenia is entirely possible, and Russia has enough forces and means for this.
