Zelensky discussed supplies for the Defense Forces with von der Leyen 06/25/2026 17:26 Ukrinform President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed defense cooperation, including supplies for the Defense Forces, with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
The head of state announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
“I spoke with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, who is currently in Gdansk at the International Conference on the Recovery of Ukraine. An important signal of support, and I am grateful for it,” he wrote.
Zelensky noted that the conversation focused on defense cooperation and collaboration to support Ukraine’s resilience and protect people from Russian attacks, including supplies for the Defense Forces.
“It is obvious to everyone that Russia is prolonging the war and ignoring all of Ukraine’s diplomatic proposals. Therefore, we must work to the maximum to strengthen our country and people. We also agreed on our next personal contacts,” he said.
As Ukrinform previously reported, the two-day International Conference on the Recovery of Ukraine (URC 2026) began on Thursday in Gdansk, Poland.
The Ukrainian delegation, led by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, is participating in the conference.
