Ukrainian company IMLA has unveiled the “Albion” logistics ground robotic platform, designed for cargo delivery and task execution in challenging conditions directly within the combat zone.

Key takeaways:

  • The “Albion” logistics ground robotic platform was developed by the Ukrainian company IMLA for efficient cargo delivery in difficult environments.
  • The platform is characterized by high cross-country capability, a modular design, and the ability to operate under threat from enemy FPV drones.

The primary advantages of “Albion” are its high cross-country capability, modular construction, and the ability to operate under the threat of enemy FPV drones.

The platform features a 4×4 all-wheel-drive configuration and weighs 320 kg. It can carry up to 400 kg of payload, and during trials, it demonstrated operation with a peak load mass of up to 600 kg.

The folding sides allow the platform to be adapted for specific tasks – from delivering ammunition and equipment to evacuating the wounded or transporting other gear.

The cruising speed of “Albion” is 16 km/h, while its maximum speed reaches 20 km/h. Propulsion is provided by four electric motors with a combined power output of 7.2 kW.

One of the platform’s key features is its cross-country capability. Low-pressure wheels with a diameter of 66 cm, combined with a ground clearance of 390 mm, enable it to confidently navigate rugged terrain even with a full load.

The power system consists of two quick-release lithium-ion batteries with a total capacity of 11 kWh. They can be replaced in the field by a single person in a few minutes without tools.

Additionally, the batteries can be recharged from a generator while on the move. This setup effectively transforms the platform into a hybrid system and removes limitations on its operational range.

To ensure stable control, “Albion” is equipped with three independent communication channels: TBS Diversity, Starlink, and HotRC for short-range operation. Operator situational awareness is provided by two cameras, one of which is a thermal imaging camera with remote control.

If necessary, the platform can be fitted with the “Pitma” EW system, featuring dynamic frequency selection in the 300–6000 MHz range for protection against FPV drones.

In the future, this should enable “Albion” to autonomously return to base after losing communication or to move along pre-scanned routes without operator intervention.
