Two residents of Chernihiv, lawyer Kateryna Shalupnya and a 37-year-old man, perished as a result of a strike by the Russian Federation’s “Iskanders” on a drone exhibition, as reported online. Kateryna was the daughter-in-law of People’s Deputy Valeriy Zub, and her husband learned of his wife’s death while on the front lines. What is known about the victims of the Russian strike on the exhibition, organized by the “Armada” association on July 24?
The death of Kateryna Shalupnya was reported on Facebook by the head of the Kharkiv Regional Council, Tetiana Lutsenko, who is also the president of the “Ukrainian Association of District and Regional Councils” (UAROR). It turned out that the victim of the Russian strike worked as the head of the legal department of the association’s secretariat. Meanwhile, the death of the 37-year-old man, Valeriy Serhiyenko, was reported by his aunt; it is known that he lived in Chernihiv, and no other information was found online.
Tetiana Lutsenko wrote that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation delivered another “most terrible and painful blow, taking the best away from us.” It is indicated that Kateryna was the “driving force and reliable support” of the UAROR team. Her education and professionalism are also mentioned, and it is reported that the farewell ceremony will take place on July 27 at 11 am in Kyiv. Then the victim of the RF strike will be taken for burial in Chernihiv.

Under the message about Kateryna Shalupnya’s death, users added other information about the deceased. It was found out that her father Serhiy is a lawyer, her mother’s name is Iryna, and the woman, moreover, was a postgraduate student at Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University. The deceased was the daughter-in-law of MP Valeriy Zub: the official wrote words of sorrow on Facebook, spoke about his son who learned of his wife’s death at the front. In addition, the MP demands explanations as to why the lawyer was sent to the drone exhibition by the “Armada” association.

The only information about the other deceased resident of Chernihiv is a post by Liudmyla Serhiyenko, which appeared online at noon on July 25. The woman wrote that her 37-year-old nephew, Valeriy Serhiyenko, died at the training ground. No information about this man was found online, but it is indicated that the author of the message works at the “Vidrodzhennia” center in Chernihiv.
“You were talented and, of course, knew a lot and could have created much more… but… you are no more,” – the post states.

Ten people died after the RF strike on the drone exhibition in the Kyiv region, the Prosecutor General’s Office reported. Information about some of the victims of the Russian shelling has been found online.
Eduard Sirenko is a 60-year-old man, former head of the SBU’s “Alpha” center, who was part of the special unit for the protection of Ukrainian diplomats in Iran.
Valentyna Savitska was the head of the Center for International Cooperation and Strategic Communications of the State Guard Administration of Ukraine. The National Military-Historical Museum’s page reported that she organized the exhibition “Shield of Statehood” and other exhibitions for adults and children.
Oleksandr Hordienko was a lecturer at the Faculty of Computer and Information Technologies of MAUP. The staff of the educational institution sadly reported that the man died at the training ground during the drone exhibition.
In addition, media reported the death of an employee of a Polish defense company; the name is unknown. Moreover, the prosecutor’s office reported that the youngest victim was 19 years old, but the name was not specified either.
As of July 27, along with Kateryna Shalupnya and Valeriy Serhiyenko, there is information about five out of ten deceased, and about two more unnamed victims.

It should be noted that the missile strike on the Kyiv region, which claimed the lives of 10 people and injured more than 100, occurred around 11 am on July 24. The Air Force reported an attack by three “Iskander”/S-400 missiles of the RF Armed Forces. Investigators collected testimonies from eyewitnesses who were at the point of impact – near the village of Kapitanivka, Bucha district, media established. It turned out that the “Armada” association’s drone exhibition was taking place there, in which about 300 people participated.
